Hey! I'm Jessica Daman, a certified jewelry ninja (not officially certified, but I'm working on it).
After spending 2 years at Maine College of Art, a fall jewelry concentration at Penland School of Crafts, and completing my BFA at Slippery Rock University, I set out on a quest. For the last two decades, I've been crashing arts festivals (actually only the ones I juried into) across the Midwest and Northeastern U.S., spreading my love of making and selling fabulous jewelry creations.
As a card-carrying member (okay, not literally) of the Kentucky Crafted Arts Program, I'm making the Bluegrass State Sparkle, one quirky jewelry piece at a time.
Now, nestled in Northern Kentucky with my partner in crime John (husband) and my two minions (adorable children), I'm crafting heirloom-quality bling that's so good, it's almost criminal.
My secret weapons? Antique die patterns that I collect (my husband says hoard), hammers, and torches. Who wouldn't want a touch of history and character with their daily glam? Each piece is textured to perfection- to create a tactile as well as visual experience. I add colorful patinas and gemstones to accentuate the textures and forms.
My roots in the Blue Ridge Mountains influence the aesthetic of my jewelry artistry. Plus the occasional quirky art Nuevo fairy or dragon. Every piece tells a story- a story sprinkled with silver, gold, gemstones, and just a dash of my questionable humor.
