Sterling Silver and Blue Lapis Flower Pendant
Regal Deep Blue Lapis Lazuli sits in the center of a three dimensional textured and patinated flower. This piece is crafted in Argentium Sterling Silver with a patinated finish to bring out the fine details. The backside of this hollow form pendant is pierced with a spiral. I made this pendant with an antique die pattern in my hand pump hydraulic press which pushes the silver down into the carved out steel pattern to create a three dimensional impression. This is a traditional way of making jewelry not often found in modern jewelry making as it has been replaced with casting. The details you can get with this method are really interesting and each piece comes out just a little different because of the amount of hand work involved. The pendant measures appox. 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" and comes with a choice of Sterling rolo chain or a leather cord.
